In plain English
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the federal trial court for this part of the state, holds court in five places: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce and Key West. The court's locations overview lists all five and gives the details for the Miami complex, which is three buildings in downtown Miami: the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. U.S. Courthouse, the C. Clyde Atkins U.S. Courthouse and the James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building.
The Clerk's Office is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on regular business days, and phone customer service runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bring a picture ID: the court says one is required to enter any of its courthouses. The court also links a page on prohibited electronic devices, so check it before you bring a phone, laptop or other device.
For parking, the court says there are public lots, with fees charged, within walking distance. Jurors get separate parking instructions through a link on the page. Metrorail riders headed to Miami exit at Government Center and take the Inner Loop Metromover one stop to the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Station.
