In plain English

Judge Andrea R. Wolfson sits in the Circuit Criminal division, section F002, in courtroom 2-5, room REG 216, at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, 1351 NW 12th Street. The Judicial Assistant is Janet Samper, jsamper@jud11.flcourts.org, and the division email is F002@jud11.flcourts.org. The calendar begins daily at 9:00 AM, and the page says most hearings use Zoom. To place a motion on calendar, email a copy of the motion to chambers; the Judicial Assistant replies with the date. File the original with the Clerk and copy the opposing party. The page says the Clerk's Office does not forward e-filed motions to the judge.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put a motion on Judge Wolfson's calendar?

The page says to email a copy of the motion to chambers, and Janet Samper will reply with the scheduled date. The original motion is filed with the Clerk's Office, and the opposing party is copied on all communications.

Any rules for emailing chambers?

The page says to always copy the Judicial Assistant on court-related emails and include all counsel on emails about case matters. It also says not to use the phrase SERVICE OF COURT DOCUMENTS in the subject line, because the system rejects such emails.

What does the page say about motions in limine and Nebbia motions?

Motions in limine must be filed by the Friday before trial unless good cause is shown. For Nebbia motions, the page says to present documents to the State first. If no stipulation is reached, send them to chambers. If received by 2:45 PM, a hearing is typically set for the next business day.

Does Judge Wolfson allow Zoom?

The page says the judges use the Zoom platform for most hearings and posts a Division 2 Zoom link. It also lists in-person appearance in Courtroom 2-5.

What about bond, probation, and return of property motions?

Bond motions are filed with the Clerk and emailed or hand-delivered to chambers with the A-form and criminal history. For return of property, the page says the hearing will be scheduled at least two weeks later.
