Miami Criminal Defense - Frequently asked Questions

If there is a question you like to have answered, contact me through the contact us form and submit it. I'd be happy to include it.

Sincerely,
Dennis Gonzalez Jr., Esq.
what do I have to say in court?
If you retain our firm, you will not have to say anything in court other than the occasional OK or YES or NO. Moreover, I will be next to you the entire time so you will know ahead of time if a YES or NO or OK is required of you. However, usually, suffice it to say that you will never be required to make a statement in court when represented by my law firm.
What is my cell phone and phone call policy after hours?
If you retain the firm you will receive my direct cell phone number. I am usually available via text and phone 24 hours.
What do you charge?
I get this question all the time. The answer depends on a wide variety of factors such as the complexity level of the case, risk of prison/jail time, your prior criminal history, and whether or not reality is aligned with your expectations. I use these factors not only to determine my fee but also to determine whether or not I want to take your case.
what is a nebbia hold?
Nebbia is a condition that requires the person paying the bond premium (whether in State or Federal) to prove the money he or she is going to use is not from an illegal source and that no one has promised to reimburse him or her. This is done by showing the prosecutor the following: bank statements, tax returns, and proof of employment, etc. Once the government or prosecutor is satisfied that the money being used for the bond is clean, the bond can then be posted and the person can get out of jail.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"I was unjustly charged with a Felony for taking back one of my employees mobile phones after she was dismissed from her post. She called police. They arrested me, charged me with Strong Arm Robbery and I spent the next two days in jail. I hired Dennis when I was released. He took over and turned a Felony into a Misdemeanor, then a Dismissal! Thanks Dennis, for finding justice in this case!!"
